Spanish Cross is a fast paced, tennis drill that covers a range of shots.
In this private-lesson tennis drill the coach is just inside the service line. The player is on the T, at the service line. The coach will feed balls shown in the order below (using a right-handed player as an example).
- First ball deep into the back-hand (play a defensive cross-court shot deep).
- 2nd ball short into the forehand (play attacking)
- 3rd play deep into the forehand (defensive again)
- 4th ball short into backhand (attacking shot)
After the four shots the player should return to the original position to start the drill sequence again.
