Fast 100

Fast 100 is one of the more practical measurement based drills a coach can undertake with their players, to see the level of improvement over the course of a training season.

  1. A coach and a player will rally between each other counting out load their shot number, until they reach 100 shots.
  2. The shots do not have to be in a row. Once an error occurs the coach will feed the next shot into play. So if the error occurs on shot 34, it is not counted and the next shot into play starts at 34.

Do this consistently throughout the training season and you’ll have another practical measurement of the improvement of your player. Advanced players can do fast 100’s crosscourt, down-the-line, backhands/forehands etc. The allowable shots can be restricted to provide for more high level players.
