In rope duck there is a rope tied at the back fence from one end at about chest height. This is being held up horizontally just inside the court by another player.
From here a coach will feed a ball side to side to a player that is on the baseline, who must execute a shot on the run, and then run towards the next ball that is being fed to the other side. However the trick being that half way through, the player must duck under the rope, encouraging bending the knees and staying low throughout the movement.
By having the rope there it also adds another element to the physical demands of the drill, creating a more effective fitness-building environment.
